The Innovation Skills Bootcamp provides participants with a hands-on look into DFW Airport's pioneering Everyday Innovator transformation program. Through a highly interactive 1-day workshop, you will learn a variety of practical innovation skills and mindsets that DFW used to unlock the innovative potential of its employees.
This unique learning experience will shift your mindset, grow your innovation skill set, and help you drive meaningful change in your own organization.
By the end of the workshop you will:
- Master core innovation skills and mindsets: From customer interviewing to creative brainstorming to testing new ideas, this workshop will equip you with transformational skills that can be immediately applied to any job role or industry (see agenda below).
- Learn an Innovation Skills Toolkit: We have created an easy-to-use and practical toolkit that distills the best thinking from a variety of innovation methodologies, such as design thinking, creative problem solving, and lean startup.
- Gain Insights into Transforming Others: You will leave this workshop inspired and prepared to inspire others. You'll also have the opportunity to learn from DFW’s Airport’s experience and best practices in rolling out their program. In addition, we will share our experiences from having worked on similar programs with a wide range of Fortune 500 companies and global organizations, like Citibank, Siemens Energy, Walmart, and Roche.
- Build Your Personal Innovation Network: Connect with other workshop participants, DFW Airport’s innovation team, and the team of expert facilitators from GIANT. All facilitators are seasoned entrepreneurs and experienced educators, with links to top-tier institutions, such as Columbia University, Northeastern University, and NYU.
What is the agenda?
During the workshop you will learn the 5 key future skills for innovation:
GIANT Skill 1: Gather
Drawing on a design thinking approach, participants will learn a practical framework for conducting interviews to uncover customer and stakeholder needs.
GIANT Skill 2: Illuminate
Using the “jobs-to-be-done” theory of innovation as a foundation, this skill provides a powerful way to reframe customer needs and business challenges.
GIANT Skill 3: Actualize
Building on the latest brainstorming and neuroscience research, this skill allows anyone to become a more creative problem solver.
GIANT Skill 4: Navigate
This skill teaches you how to maximize the likelihood that new concepts succeed by using low-risk, low-resource experiments to test, learn, and iterate.
GIANT Skill 5: Tell
Applying the WGOCA Pitch Template, this skill helps you persuade and build support among key stakeholders.
